Mitch started his career as casualwear buyer at Marks & Spencer in 1997, leaving in 2005 for a 10-year career at Matalan. Hughes rose through the ranks to buying director at the value retailer before moving on to Topshop and Topman, then Boohoo Group, before returning home to Marks & Spencer as menswear director in January 2023.
